The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is the government agency which is responsible for issuing the driving licences and road safety in Greece. Only qualified teachers can provide driving and theory lessons, therefore enrolment at a driving school is required. Lessons are available in English, while the actual tests are in Greek. For A and B class vehicles, Greek Driving Licences are valid for 15 years from their date of issue.
For C and D class vehicles, the Greek Driving Licence are valid for five years from their date of issue. From the age of 65 onwards, drivers with Greek-issued licences must undergo health checks in order to remain the driving licence valid and should renew their licence every two years.
The licence will be issued to those who pass the test and that expires on their 65th Birthday.
